The best beaches of Netanya
Netanya is one of the largest resorts in Israel on the Mediterranean coast. Located just 32 km from Tel Aviv and 63 km from Haifa, it is very popular among holidaymakers of all ages, especially among young people. Numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and clubs are open until morning.
Netanya’s beach line is longer than in Tel Aviv. All swimming areas are maintained in perfect condition.
About 15 km south of Netanya lies the city of Herzliya. This is an elite resort for very wealthy ladies and gentlemen. On the shore are luxurious villas, surrounded by greenery, which is rare for the desert. Local restaurants offer gourmet cuisine, while world-famous stars are magnified in clubs.
HOW TO GET TO NETANIA FROM BEN GURION AIRPORT?
The distance from the airport to Netanya is about 50 km. It can be overcome by the following modes of transport:
Taxi. Price – 300 shekels. It will take about 35 minutes to get there.
Bus. Transport departs from terminal No. 3 every 20 minutes, from 06.00 to 23:00, except Friday until 15:00 and Saturday until 19:00.
Ticket price: adults – 25 shekels, children (5-10 years old) – about 20 shekels,
children under 5 years old – free of charge.
Shuttle. There are buses at the exit of the terminal, route No. 5 goes to Airport City. There you need to change direct buses to Netanya. They oversee from 06:00 to 17:00.
The train. An electric train departs from the airport, from the lower level of terminal No. 3, to Netanya with a change in Tel Aviv at the stations of Haganah or the University. Ticket price – 27 shekels. The interval of movement is from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the time of day. To get from Netanya Train Station to the city center, you need to take a local bus or take a taxi.
Buses are available at Tahana Merkazit Bus Station.
Important! Part of the buses goes to Netanya Central Bus Station, part – travels without getting to the resort. Passengers drop off at the intermediate station Netanya Interchange, where you need to transfer to another bus going to the city. Be sure to check the route at the box office before buying a ticket. Ticket price – from 8 to 11 shekels. Travel time is about an hour.
The beach line stretches from north to south for almost 13.5 km along the resort. Due to the proximity to Tel Aviv, there are always many vacationers, especially on holidays and weekends.
All beaches are clean and suitable for swimming. Each has the following amenities:
Toilets, showers, changing rooms, cafes.
Rental of surfboards, kayaks, jet skis, banana rides, parasailing.
Free fitness equipment.
Small, small lagoons of artificial origin for bathing young children.
Every day professional lifeguards are on duty to ensure the safety of bathers.
Admission to all beaches is free. You only have to pay 15 shekels for renting a deck chair and 10 shekels for an umbrella. If you do not need beach equipment, sit on the sand under a canopy.
Officially, the beaches are open from May to October. During this seasonal interval, rescuers are on duty who are responsible for your life. The rest of the time you are responsible for yourself; no one restricts access to the coastline.
There are many jellyfish in the Mediterranean. Off the coast of Israel, they appear in early June and mid-July. These inhabitants of the deep sea do not need to be touched: their tentacles can leave a painful burn.
MAIN BEACHES OF NETANIA DIRECTING FROM NORTH SOUTH
Blue Bay (BlueBay)
This beach, located in the very north of the resort, in the Ein Thelet area, is named for the nearest Blue Bay Hotel. The southern tip of the coast belongs to lovers of water sports, the central one – to lovers of a relaxing pastime, the rocky northern one forms convenient zones for fishing.
Mostly local orthodox Jews spend their time here. Separate days are provided for men and women. A high fence covers the rest area from prying eyes.
On this beach, life is bubbling around the clock. The bulk of vacationers are young people. Boys and girls do not lie lazily in the sand, but engage in active sports. The cultural and entertaining life of this sandy corner is determined by the restaurant and bar “Hof Khatamnun”, which thunders on the entire coast with cheerful parties.
You can get to the beach from the side of the pedestrian street Shaked and Nice Boulevard, the landmark is the former Onot Hotel, now the Season.
This is one of Netanya’s most popular beaches, especially there are many people on weekends. It is worth arriving early in the morning to occupy a cozy place. There is a lot of entertainment for every taste – from futsal to water children’s slides. The beach is located at the end of Herzel Street. Nearby is the Thai Kopipi Restaurant.
